Our Story

In the heart of Parlin, NJ, a young Marine veteran named Joseph Aviles found his calling in the art of garment care. With the precision of his military training and a passion for excellence, he took over a Betty Brite dry-cleaning franchise, transforming it into a local sanctuary for fine fabrics. Brides entrusted him with their treasured gowns, and neighbors knew there was no stain he couldn’t master. Joseph didn’t just clean clothes—he restored confidence, dignity, and memories.

Then came Victoria, a spirited Colombian immigrant, newly admitted to Princeton yet determined to fund her education. Though small in stature, her determination was anything but. Unable to reach the garment rails, she leapt for them, her unwavering grip a testament to her resolve. Her boldness caught Joseph’s eye, and he knew instantly that she belonged on his team. What started as a humble partnership in the shop soon blossomed into a lifelong union built on shared values and dreams.

Together, Joseph and Victoria envisioned more than just a successful business—they sought to redefine garment care as an act of artistry and love. They packed up their ambitions and moved to New York City, opening the doors to 10 Downing St. Cleaners. Their passion grew, and so did their business, evolving into King Garment Care. With an eye toward expansion, they extended their legacy to Brooklyn, launching Bridge Cleaners & Tailors. Eventually, these two pillars of craft and care united to form Kingbridge Cleaners & Tailors.

Today, the Aviles family’s commitment to impeccable craftsmanship lives on. Victoria, alongside her son Richard, his wife Melissa, and a team of dedicated artisans, carries forward the tradition of treating every garment with care befitting royalty. Operating from a state-of-the-art, eco-friendly facility, Kingbridge Cleaners & Tailors continues to honor Joseph’s timeless credo: "It’s all about the utmost care and quality, from toes to nose."

This is not just garment care—it’s a family legacy woven with elegance, integrity, and devotion to the craft.
