Our Story
Once upon a time in Parlin, NJ, a young ex-Marine named Joseph Aviles, proud as punch and precise as a pin, took over a Betty Brite dry-cleaning franchise. With a knack for banishing stubborn stains and restoring bridal gowns to their pristine glory, Joseph quickly became the local hero of hygiene.
Enter Victoria, a sprightly Colombian freshly admitted to Princeton but short on cash. Undeterred by a literal shortcoming—she couldn’t reach the garment rails—Victoria jumped, grabbed hold, and declared she could tackle any task thrown her way. Impressed (or maybe just unable to pry her off the rail), Joseph hired her on the spot as his sweeper and cleaning lady.
Workplace proximity made the heart grow fonder, and Joseph and Victoria fell in love. Sharing a common vision for impeccable garment care, they dreamt bigger. Why just spoil New Jersey with clean clothes when they could conquer New York?
So, they did just that, waving goodbye to New Jersey and hello to Manhattan, setting up shop at 10 Downing St. Cleaners, which later became King Garment Care. Not ones to rest on their freshly laundered laurels, they expanded to downtown Brooklyn with Bridge Cleaners & Tailors, eventually merging both to form Kingbridge Cleaners & Tailors.
Now, the legacy of meticulous care lives on with Victoria, her son Richard, his wife Melissa, and a passionate team of specialists, ensuring every piece of clothing is treated royally at their eco-friendly facility. From 'toes to nose,' each garment is lovingly cared for—because in Joseph's words, it's all about the utmost care and quality, hand and foot.
